When you purchase and complete an eligibility report, we collect the following information:

  • Your email address (used to deliver your report and respond to support requests)

  • Your country of citizenship
  • Your highest education level
  • Your nominated occupation
  • Your years of work experience in your nominated occupation
  • Your English language proficiency level (self-assessed or based on test results you report to us)
  • Your partner's English proficiency level, if applicable
  • Whether you have completed an Australian study requirement
  • Whether you have completed a Professional Year program in Australia
  • Whether you hold a Credentialled Community Language credential
  • Your approximate level of savings (in a range, used only for the Work and Holiday visa assessment)
  • Whether you are interested in state or territory nomination

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Your IP address
  • Your browser type and version
  • The pages you visit and the time spent on them
  • The referring URL (the website you came from before visiting ours)
  • Device type (mobile, tablet, or desktop)

This information is collected through Plausible Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal data in a form that identifies individual users. It aggregates usage data for statistical purposes only.

2.3 Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you make a payment, your card details are entered directly into Stripe's hosted checkout environment. We do not receive, process, or store your card number, CVV, expiry date, or any other payment instrument data.

We receive from Stripe a payment confirmation, a transaction reference, and the payment amount. We store this information to maintain a record of your purchase.

2.4 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect the following:

  • Your passport number or any passport details
  • Your visa history or current visa status
  • Your national identification number (such as Aadhaar, PAN, or Philippine ID numbers)
  • Any biometric information
  • Any health or medical information
  • Any criminal record information
  • Your social media profiles or login credentials
  • Any information about your family members other than what is directly relevant to the points scoring criteria (partner English level)

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 To Provide the Service

We use the information you provide primarily to generate your eligibility report and deliver it to you. Specifically:

  • Your profile inputs are passed to our points calculation engine to generate your report
  • Your email address is used to deliver the PDF report to you
  • Your name is used to personalise the report header and the delivery email
  • Your payment reference is used to confirm that a valid purchase was made before generating your report

3.2 To Support You

If you contact us with a support query, we use your name and email address to respond to you and to verify your purchase.

3.3 To Improve the Service

We use aggregated, anonymised data about how users interact with our website to improve the user experience and the accuracy of our scoring engine. This data does not identify individual users.

3.4 For Legal and Compliance Purposes

We may use or retain your information where required to do so by law, court order, or regulatory requirement, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights or the safety of others.

3.5 What We Do Not Do With Your Information

We will never:

  • Sell your personal information to any third party
  • Share your personal information with advertisers or ad networks
  • Use your personal information for direct marketing without your explicit consent
  • Use your information to build a profile for advertising targeting purposes
  • Share your information with immigration authorities or any government body unless required by law

4. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our platform. Each service receives only the information necessary for its specific function.

4.1 Stripe (Payment Processing)

Stripe receives your card details directly through their hosted checkout environment. They process your payment and return a confirmation to us. Stripe does not receive your immigration profile data. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

4.2 Supabase (Database)

We use Supabase to store your form submissions and purchase records. Your data is stored in a secure, encrypted database with row-level security enabled. Supabase operates infrastructure on Amazon Web Services in the Singapore region (ap-southeast-1). Supabase's privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.

4.3 Resend (Email Delivery)

We use Resend, a transactional email provider, to deliver your report PDF to your email address. The email provider receives your email address and the report PDF for the purpose of delivery only. They do not receive any other personal information.

4.4 Plausible Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. It records only aggregate, anonymised usage statistics. Plausible's privacy policy is available at plausible.io/privacy.

4.5 Hosting

Our website is hosted on cloud infrastructure that processes web traffic and may log IP addresses as part of standard web server operation.

4.6 No Other Third Parties

We do not use any other analytics tools, advertising networks, tracking pixels, session recording tools, or data broker services. We do not share your data with any third party other than those listed in this section.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for the following periods:

  • Form submission data (profile inputs): 2 years from purchase date, for support queries.
  • Email address: 2 years from purchase date, for report delivery and support.
  • Payment reference (Stripe transaction ID): 7 years from purchase date, for financial record-keeping obligations.
  • Generated PDF report: 90 days from generation, for re-delivery if the original email is lost.
  • Website analytics data: Not stored as personal data. Plausible collects only aggregate statistics.

After the relevant retention period, your personal information will be securely deleted from our systems.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, modification, and disclosure. Our security measures include:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption
  • Database access is restricted using row-level security and service role keys
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only
  • We do not store card details or payment instrument data on our systems
  • We do not store your government-issued identification documents

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. 7. International Data Transfers

BetterLifeVisa serves users in India, the Philippines, and potentially other countries. By using our service, you acknowledge that your information may be processed and stored on infrastructure located outside your country of residence, including in Singapore (Supabase) and other locations where our service providers operate.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that any third party that handles your data does so in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection standards.

8. Your Rights

You have rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you. We will respond to requests within a reasonable timeframe.

8.1 Right of Access

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. To make an access request, email us at support@betterlifevisa.com with the subject line 'Privacy Access Request' and include the email address used for your purchase. We will respond within 30 days.

8.2 Right of Correction

If the personal information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to correct it. Note that correcting your profile inputs after a report has been generated does not entitle you to a replacement report without a new purchase.

8.3 Right of Deletion

You may request that we delete your personal information. We will comply with deletion requests subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain records (such as financial transaction records). 8.4 Right to Withdraw Consent

Where we process your personal information on the basis of consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.

8.5 Indian Users

If you are located in India, you may also have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 as it comes into effect. We will update this Privacy Policy to reflect any additional obligations under that Act as required.

8.6 Philippine Users

9. Cookies

We use minimal cookies on our website. Specifically:

  • We use a session storage mechanism to remember your selected language (English, Hindi, or Filipino) during your visit. This does not involve tracking cookies and no personal data is stored.
  • We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any cookies that follow you across other websites.
  • Stripe may set cookies in the context of its hosted checkout environment. These are governed by Stripe's own cookie policy.

Because we use Plausible Analytics (which does not use cookies) and do not use advertising or tracking cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner. If we introduce any additional cookies in the future, we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms.

10. Children

Our service is not intended for persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The Work and Holiday visa (Subclass 462) has a minimum age requirement of 18 years, and we require all users to be at least 18 years old.

Our website may contain links to external websites, including the Australian Department of Home Affairs website and the MARA register. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external websites. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any website you visit through a link on our site.
